Apple app store stuck on download now
By "waiting" mode I mean they are showing a download progress bar and have the word "waiting" overlaid their icons inside of the launchpad app. I would take a picture but it doesn't seem to let me while showing the launchpad.
I had a problem with not being able to stop an old OS from downloading. In order to delete it and stop the download, once opening launchpad, I held down the 'option' on my keyboard which caused the apps to wiggle just like on the iphone.
Do not delete or remove any downloaded part or file. Just do the following and it will resume the download. In the Activity Monitor, for example, kill the storeagent process. Then restart App Store and click resume.
That's it. The actual downloads are done by a process called storeagent, which sometimes get stuck. Exit App Store, kill storeagent e. Thanks to Jason's response since it got me on the right track. The icon of the installing icon in LaunchPad would not, however, respond to double clicking.
But when I selected and held the icon as in 3 fingers on the trackpad until all the icons started to "wiggle", then I could click on the "X" on the icon which halted the update.
The offending app was "XCode" and there is another topic on this site which refers to the problem with trying to update XCode via the App Store. Log in using the original ID and complete or cancel the downloads, then log in with your own ID again. All my iBooks downloads where in waiting mode too so I decided to kill storedownloadd os x With the latest update to Mountain Lion I am now able to fix the issue with ease.
Now you can double-click a partially downloaded program to throw away all the currently downloaded parts and start over. This only starts working once the computer thinks it has stopped. App product pages give you the information you need when deciding what to download.
Each app is required to ask for your permission so you can choose what data to share. Even if you grant access once, you can revoke it later. We also ensure that apps are denied access to certain sensitive data on your device, are unable to modify your device or OS, and are prohibited from obtaining complete access to your data. System-level protections prevent an app from accessing data from other apps without your explicit permission.
When you download an app, it should work as promised. Which is why human App Reviewers ensure that the apps on the App Store adhere to our strict app review standards. Our App Store Review Guidelines require apps to be safe, provide a good user experience, comply with our privacy rules, secure devices from malware and threats, and use approved business models.
Learn more about the App Store Review Guidelines. You should never have to worry about inappropriate content. We strongly support all points of view being represented on the App Store.
But we also take steps to make sure apps are respectful to users with differing opinions, and we reject apps with any content or behavior that we believe is over the line — especially when it puts children at risk. Every app has an assigned age rating, so parents can determine what is appropriate for their children. Apps must follow an approved business model and clearly show you the price, tell you what you get with your purchase, and explain subscription-renewal terms up front.
Apps help unlock the full potential of your Apple devices. Apple products use industry-leading technology to bring apps to life — so you can experience more of the amazing things your devices are capable of.
Thanks to hardware and software designed to work together, you get more out of your apps — from things you take for granted, like supersmooth scrolling, to seeing how a new sofa might look in your living room before you buy it.
We help app developers take advantage of our latest hardware technologies. Like when an app uses Face ID or Touch ID for secure access — while keeping the underlying authentication data from your face or fingerprint private.
Or when a game controller syncs up easily with a new game on your iPhone. Select the sign out option. You will have to view your Account information and then match its country to the country the Mac App Store is currently in.
Check if your internet is working and stable. In this case, the download or the update will be slow and give the impression that it is stuck. Try connecting to a different internet connection to see if the download or update starts. It will open a Finder window. Reply Helpful Thread reply - more options Link to this Post.
